2018 Late Harvest Botrytis Semillon

Dolce d’Oro means “Sweet Gold”

Tasting Notes

A late-harvest dessert wine that packs a punch. Botrytis is a fungus that shrivels and decays the grapes; this wine is made from Sémillon grapes affected by this fungus. A good thing as the fungus adds complexity, and intensifies sweetness which makes the wine more viscous. This is a luscious after-dinner wine that is fresh and fruity; it is full of lemon, pineapple, honey and marmalade aromas and flavours. The finish is sweet, fresh and clean. For lovers of sweet wines it is perfect paired with desserts or cheese platters.

This is a very appealing indulgence.

Tasting Notes

And pink it is! Have fun, celebrate and enjoy this rose-coloured wine by yourself or with friends. A semi-sweet & lightly sparkling wine made from our Shiraz grapes; tasting like strawberries and cream. A modern-day wine; sophisticated and luxurious made in the Prosecco style, that is, tank fermented.

2022 Pinot Grigio

Full and fruity; the French way

Tasting Notes

These grapes were picked early, resulting in a drier style Pinot Grigio that has a luscious fruit finish. Light copper/brass colour, with an unusual aroma of nettles and dried herbs with some background passionfruit and lemon notes.

It turns quite citrusy on the palate, with a gentle sweet-and-sour interplay. A delicious firmly flavoured Pinot Grigio.

I love this particular Pinot Grigio!

2019 Semillon

...Sémillon: a French word pronouncd Sem-ee-yon

Tasting Notes

A crisp and pale straw-coloured wine with herbal notes. Fresh lemon and lime persist throughout balanced by an underlying steely acidity. This wine is true to the style of a classic Hunter Valley Sémillon demonstrating good length and structure. It has the citrus freshness of youth, but is developing those delicious notes of oak that typify an ageing Sémillon. But note this wine has not been oaked.

If you are eating a food that you would squeeze a lemon over, pair the food with this very classy Sémillon.

2018 Reserve Shiraz (Thomas Charles)

Region: Lovedale Hunter Valley

Variety: Shiraz

Alc: 14%

Tasting Notes

Our Reserve Shiraz is made from Shiraz grapes grown on our Estate. When we make our Shiraz we take into consideration how much oak the fruit can handle; because of the exceptional  nature of the 2018 harvest, the time on oak imparted additional tannins that contributed to the wine's natural stability. This strong tannin structure ensures this wine will age nicely for many years.

It is soft & smooth on the palate with intense flavours.
